The Collection — Oceania

Small collection,
big landscapes.

Six properties across New Zealand's fjords, lakes and high country, and one private island in Fiji — our smallest region, and among our most requested.

Hand-picked, not extensive.

Oceania is the smallest collection we carry, and deliberately so — six properties, chosen individually rather than gathered to fill out a region, across a corner of the world most of our guests visit once and remember for decades.

New Zealand accounts for five of the six: Huka Lodge on the Waikato River outside Taupō, Fiordland Lodge at the gateway to Milford Sound, The Rees on Queenstown's Lake Wakatipu, and landmark city stays in Auckland and Christchurch either side of the South Island's high country. Fiji closes the collection with Six Senses Fiji on Malolo Island in the Mamanuca archipelago — the one property here that trades mountains for a reef.

Most itineraries into this region are built entirely around these six — a South Island loop through Queenstown and Fiordland, a North Island stretch anchored on Auckland and Taupō, or a New Zealand journey extended with a week in Fiji at the end.

Fjords & High Country

Fiordland Lodge and The Rees sit at the edge of Milford Sound and Lake Wakatipu, in New Zealand’s most dramatic landscape.

Two City Bookends

Park Hyatt Auckland and The George in Christchurch anchor either end of a South Island journey.

One Private Island

Six Senses Fiji on Malolo Island is the sole Pacific-island property in this collection, reef in place of mountains.

Built To Extend

Most often added on to a longer safari or Asia itinerary rather than booked as a standalone trip.
