Overview
A Hundred and Fifty-Five
Sixty hotel rooms, ninety apartments and five lakeside residences, all with terraces.
The Rees sits on the shore of Lake Wakatipu a few minutes out of Queenstown itself, which is the point: the town is busy and this is not. There are 60 hotel rooms, 90 apartments and five three-bedroom lakeside residences, and every one of them has a terrace facing across the water to the Remarkables. The apartments suit longer stays and families; the residences are effectively private houses. The wine programme is unusually serious for a hotel this size — the Bordeau Wine Lounge has held the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for thirteen consecutive years, drawing on Bordeaux and Burgundy alongside the Central Otago pinot from up the valley.
Rooms, apartments or a house. The three accommodation types are genuinely different products. Apartments have kitchens and suit families; the residences are three-bedroom houses.
