Zimbabwe is one of Africa's best-kept safari secrets. Home to the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Zimbabwe offers an exceptional combination of dramatic landscapes, authentic safari experiences, and remarkably skilled guides.
Hwange National Park is the country's wildlife crown jewel, famous for its enormous elephant populations and diverse predator sightings. Mana Pools National Park provides one of Africa's most celebrated walking safari experiences, allowing guests to explore the wilderness on foot alongside expert guides. Unlike busier safari destinations, Zimbabwe often feels wonderfully uncrowded, creating a more intimate connection with the landscape and wildlife.
At Finders & Keepers Safaris, we believe that for travelers seeking authenticity, adventure and some of Africa's finest guiding traditions, Zimbabwe remains one of the continent's most rewarding destinations. From a helicopter flight over the thundering spray of Victoria Falls, to elephant-filled game drives across Hwange, to walking quietly through Mana Pools beside the Zambezi, every journey here is designed around the rare gift of space — and the guides who know how to use it.
Crafted for sophisticated safari connoisseurs who crave deep historical privilege, raw wilderness isolation, and elite walking safaris. The package takes guests from the majestic medieval ruins of Great Zimbabwe — the stone capital of a lost empire — to the pristine UNESCO-protected floodplains of Mana Pools, and finally to the hauntingly beautiful drowned forests of Lake Kariba at Matusadona National Park. Guests experience walking alongside legendary elephant bulls that stand on their hind legs to reach albida tree pods — one of Africa's most iconic wildlife spectacles. A doors-off helicopter flight over the wild Zambezi channels. And a spellbinding private Mbira music performance at Lake Kariba — the thumb piano historically used to communicate with Shona ancestors.

Ngamo Plains, Hwange National Park
Hwange is Zimbabwe’s largest national park at around 14,600 square kilometres, and home to the world’s largest remaining savanna elephant population — over 45,000 animals. Linkwasha, rebuilt from the ground up on the footprint of the original camp, holds traversing rights to the private Makalolo and Linkwasha concessions in the game-rich south-eastern corner, which means guests never share a sighting with public game-drive traffic.
Nine tents sit beneath leadwood trees facing an open pan and permanent waterhole: eight en-suite doubles and twins and one two-room family tent, each with a lounge area and glass-and-mesh sliding doors that open the whole room onto the plains. Bathrooms pair an indoor shower with one that opens to the bush. A raised Star Bed platform a short drive from camp offers a night under nothing but mosquito netting.
Fourteen solar-hybrid pumped pans across the concession sustain wildlife through the dry season and draw remarkable congregations to drink. Linkwasha is particularly known for its wild dog — one of the highest-density painted wolf areas left in Zimbabwe — and a sunken photographic hide puts you at ground level with whatever comes down to the water. Victoria Falls is an hour away by air.
