Morocco feels less like a country and more like a collection of worlds woven together. One moment you are wandering through ancient medinas filled with spices, artisans, and hidden riads. The next, you are crossing golden dunes beneath the stars of the Sahara Desert or standing among the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas Mountains.
Imperial cities such as Marrakech, Fez, Rabat, and Meknes reveal centuries of architecture, culture, and history, while the Atlantic coastline offers elegant seaside retreats and vibrant coastal towns. From luxury desert camps to exquisite palaces hidden behind ancient walls, Morocco combines adventure, sophistication, and sensory richness unlike anywhere else in Africa.
At Finders & Keepers Safaris, we design Morocco journeys that reward curiosity at every turn — losing an afternoon in the souks of the Marrakech medina, sharing mint tea with Berber families in the High Atlas, and falling asleep beneath a canopy of stars in a private Sahara camp. It is a destination where every street, dune and mountain pass holds another story waiting to be discovered.
Crafted for luxury travellers who crave dramatic desert-mountain contrast without the distances of the deep Sahara. This slow-paced road journey pairs the energy of Marrakech with the absolute serenity of the rocky Agafay Desert and the high pine-scented valleys of the Atlas Range. Guests check into top-tier wellness properties including Kasbah Tamadot — Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Limited Edition mountain fortress. Signature highlights include riding camels across desert ridges at sunset, dining inside a candle-lit stone canyon, a hot-air balloon over the Atlas foothills, and a deeply immersive Amazigh argan oil and bread-making experience.
Itinerary
Marrakech → Agafay Desert → Ourika Valley → High Atlas
The ultimate flagship Moroccan itinerary for first-time luxury travellers — masterfully pairing the intricate medieval grandeur of Fes and Marrakech with an exclusive deep-desert foray into the towering Erg Chebbi dunes of the Sahara. Private charter flights eliminate grueling road segments. Guests sleep in historical exclusive-use riads and a state-of-the-art glamping oasis beneath the desert stars. A private historian navigates the 9,000 streets of the Fes Medina. A hot-air balloon reveals the Sahara at dawn. And a lavish palace courtyard feast with traditional Berber musicians closes the Marrakech chapter.
Itinerary
Casablanca → Fes → Merzouga Sahara → Ouarzazate → Marrakech
Designed specifically for ultra-high-net-worth repeat Morocco travellers who have already seen the classic landmarks and want to escape the crowds entirely. This itinerary pieces together Morocco's most exclusive under-the-radar treasures: the UNESCO Hispano-Moorish medina of Tetouan, Roman ruins at Volubilis at private after-hours with wine between ancient pillars, a luxury mountain lake retreat at Bin El Ouidane, the 1,000-palm oasis of Dar Ahlam, and the dramatic roaring Atlantic cliffs of Mirleft with their monumental sea arches.

Agafay Desert, one hour from Marrakech
The Agafay is Marrakech’s stony desert: a lunar landscape of rock, canyon and dry riverbed at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, close enough to reach in an afternoon and remote enough to feel like genuine wilderness. On clear days the snow-capped Atlas forms the entire eastern horizon.
Inara — formerly Agafay Camp — has operated here for over sixteen years, evolving from a simple bivouac into nineteen tents and suites redesigned by owner Vincent Jaquet. Moroccan craftsmanship meets contemporary decor, with thermal and sound insulation and reversible air conditioning throughout, so the camp works in any season rather than only the temperate ones. Larger suites add private terraces with jacuzzis and outdoor showers; Suite 19 has a 90-square-metre wooden terrace of its own.
Two heated pools anchor the daytime — a sand-and-quartz Desert Lagoon that blends into the landscape, and an infinity pool over the canyon. Days run to camel rides at golden hour, quad and e-bike excursions, pottery workshops with local artisans, and telescope sessions after dark. Dinner is served each night in the Circle, the camp’s communal living space, by campfire and candlelight.
