Overview
The End of the Road
Serra Cafema sits on the Kunene River at Namibia's border with Angola, among the most isolated camps on the continent.
Serra Cafema is set on the banks of the Kunene River in the far reaches of Kaokoland, one of the most remote and least-visited corners of Namibia. The camp overlooks a lush green river corridor cutting through some of the oldest desert on Earth, with the Hartmann Valley's towering red dunes visible in the distance. Access is by light aircraft only, and the surrounding region is home to the semi-nomadic Himba people, whose ochre-painted way of life continues largely unchanged. Few camps anywhere offer this degree of genuine isolation.
