Overview
On the Edge of the Rift
Ten suites on a cliff face a hundred metres above the lake, inside the national park.
The Cliff sits a hundred metres above Lake Nakuru on a volcanic rock face inside the national park, with ten tents spread along the edge of the escarpment, each looking out across 180 degrees of the Great Rift Valley and the lake below. It opened in 2018 and reads as a hybrid — part safari lodge, part tented camp, part boutique hotel — built and furnished in a contemporary European register that is unusual in Kenya. Nakuru itself is a rhino sanctuary, giving some of the most reliable black and white rhino sightings in the country.
The boat safari is exclusive to here. Cliff Boat Safaris on Lake Nakuru are run only by this camp — sunrise and mid-morning departures across one of Kenya’s premier birdwatching lakes, with breakfast served on board among the flamingos and pelicans.
