Overview
Where the World’s Longest River Meets the Wild
Positioned on the southern riverbank of the Victoria Nile, Nile Safari Lodge is a minimally intrusive, eco-conscious escape in the heart of Murchison Falls National Park.
Murchison Falls, Uganda's largest national park at over 5,300km², is bisected by the Victoria Nile as it forces its way through a narrow gorge before plunging into the Devil's Cauldron below. Nile Safari Lodge sits 20km downstream from the falls themselves, its eight triangular bandas crafted from locally sourced eucalyptus wood with high, sloping thatch roofs that keep interiors naturally ventilated. Beneath a shading tamarind tree, the lounge overlooks the river and its resident hippos and crocodiles, while solar power and minimal-footprint design reflect the lodge's wider eco-conscious ethos.
