Overview

A Family Farm
Above the Lake

Family-run since it opened in 1996, Ndali Lodge sits on a 1,000-acre tea and vanilla estate on the rim of an extinct volcanic crater, filled today with the still waters of Lake Nyinambuga.

The estate dates back to the 1920s, first owned by tea farmer Major Trevor Price and developed into a lodge in the 1990s by his son; it remains run today by Trevor's grandchildren, Aubrey and Lulu Price. Ndali's water comes directly from the lake via an innovative hydraulic ram pump powered by gravity alone, and firewood for the hot water system comes from a fast-growing eucalyptus forest on the estate. Positioned 26km south of Fort Portal and around 40 minutes from Kibale Forest, Ndali offers dramatic views over Lake Nyinambuga and several more distant crater lakes, with the blue wall of the Rwenzori Mountains on the horizon.
