Overview
Eleven Kulalas, Beneath the Dunes
Little Kulala is widely regarded as the finest base for Sossusvlei — an intimate camp on Wilderness's private reserve, with direct access to Namibia's tallest dunes through its own exclusive gate.
Little Kulala lies within the 27,000-hectare Kulala Wilderness Reserve, bordering Namib-Naukluft National Park along the dry Auab riverbed. The land was once used for subsistence goat farming; over three decades, Wilderness has returned it to its natural state, and desert-adapted wildlife — oryx, ostrich, bat-eared fox — has followed. The eleven climate-controlled kulalas take their pastel tones directly from the grey and pink limestone of the surrounding geology, with wall-to-ceiling glass and canvas dissolving the line between room and reserve.
A sister camp nearby. Kulala Desert Lodge sits within the same reserve — larger, more family-oriented, and more affordable. Little Kulala remains the more intimate, premium address of the two. This page covers Little Kulala alone.

Location
Where the Desert Meets the Dunes
Little Kulala lies on the Kulala Wilderness Reserve — the only private reserve with direct access to Sossusvlei, Namibia's most photographed landscape.
The reserve borders Namib-Naukluft National Park, with a private gate that saves guests the early drive from Sesriem.
Once degraded farmland, the 27,000-hectare reserve has been rehabilitated back to its natural state over three decades.
The camp sits along the dry Auab riverbed, a natural corridor for the Namib's desert-adapted wildlife.
No two kulalas share a view — chalets are spread out to give every guest a private outlook over the reserve.
Fly
Light aircraft from Windhoek's Eros Airport land at the reserve's own airstrip in around an hour.
Drive
A private road connects camp directly to the reserve's exclusive Sossusvlei gate — no public route required.
