Overview

Vineyard Glamour,
Mountain Serenity

Set on a private 30-acre working estate in the Franschhoek Valley, La Residence pairs a contemporary shell with a romantic, colonial-inspired interior of Persian rugs, antiques and original art.

Guinea fowl and miniature horses roam the vineyards, orchards and gardens surrounding the main house, each of its eleven individually decorated suites carrying its own colour scheme and set of influences — from the exotic Tibetan Suite to the Provençal blues of the Chambre Bleu. A stone's throw away, five separate Vineyard Suites offer families and groups their own open-plan lounges, private terraces and gardens, four with their own pools, making La Residence one of the few winelands hotels genuinely welcoming to children of all ages. A double rim-flow pool, an open kitchen for full interaction with the chef, and an executive chef's ever-changing seasonal menu round out an estate built for both quiet romance and family celebration.

Part of The Royal Portfolio. La Residence belongs to Liz Biden's Royal Portfolio, alongside The Silo in Cape Town and Birkenhead House in Hermanus.
