Forty-four floors of exposed steel above the Olympic Port, with Frank Gehry’s fish on the beach below.

Overview
Forty-Four Floors
A seafront tower on the Barceloneta beach, sixty seconds from the sand.
Hotel Arts was built for the 1992 Olympics and it looks it, in the best sense: a 44-floor tower with its steel superstructure on the outside, standing at the Port Olímpic where the city finally turned to face its own sea. The terraced gardens sit in the shade of El Peix, Frank Gehry’s 52-metre golden fish, which is one of the most recognisable pieces of public art in Spain. Rooms run to dark wood and generous bathrooms with Asprey; the penthouses come with a private lift, a kitchen where the hotel’s own chefs will cook for you, and butler service. The beach is a minute from the front door.
The height is the view. Rooms are stacked over 44 floors and the higher you go the more of the city and the Mediterranean you get. Ask for a high floor by number.
