Overview
The Original Bamboo Hideaway
Hidden deep in the jungles of East Bali near Sidemen, Hideout was the original bamboo eco-lodge in the region — once ranked the world's 4th most-wished-for Airbnb, with stays booked out months in advance.
Every structure is built from locally sourced bamboo, a fast-growing, low-carbon material that lets each hideout blend directly into its riverside jungle setting rather than intrude on it. No two hideouts are alike: multi-level treehouse villas with infinity pools sit alongside smaller, cosier cabins overlooking the river, from a budget-friendly rice-field villa to a grand treehouse commanding the site's best views. With limited Wi-Fi and minimal electricity by design, Hideout operates on a genuine digital-detox model — guests are encouraged to disconnect from technology and reconnect with the sound of the river, the jungle's night chorus, and each other.
Rustic by design, not by accident. Hideout's bamboo-and-open-air construction means no air conditioning and, in the more rustic villas, an outdoor bathroom — guests seeking a fully enclosed, climate-controlled stay should set expectations accordingly before booking.

Original & Iconic
Where Bali's Bamboo Trend Began
Before Sidemen's other bamboo eco-lodges followed, Hideout was the original — and remains, for many repeat guests, still the favourite.
