Overview
A Village, Rebuilt in Reed
Okuti's mosasas — a tribal word meaning house of reeds — are a genuine departure from the classic canvas tent, built as curved reed-and-thatch structures along the Maunachira River.
Rebuilt in the style of a contemporary African village and refreshed in pale neutral tones, Okuti sits on the banks of the Maunachira River exactly where it flows through Moremi's Xakanaxa Lagoon — widely rated among the finest game-viewing areas in Africa. The camp's beehive-shaped main lodge holds a dining room and separate reading room, its doors opening onto a lower deck with a swimming pool overlooking the lagoon. Seven mosasas, including two family units, accommodate up to eighteen guests, all connected by raised wooden walkways over the grass and water below.
One of Botswana's most family-friendly camps. Okuti welcomes children from age seven, with two dedicated family mosasas — a rarity among Moremi's more adults-only camps, and a large part of what makes it a lasting favourite.

Location
The Beating Heart of the Delta
Okuti sits within Moremi Game Reserve, often described as the beating heart of the Okavango Delta, where the Maunachira River flows through the Xakanaxa Lagoon.
Moremi Game Reserve blends floodplains, waterways, lagoons, grasslands and forest across the Delta's central and eastern reaches.
Black and white rhino have been reintroduced to Moremi, making it a genuine Big Five destination.
Night drives and off-road driving are not permitted in this part of Moremi, in keeping with the reserve's conservation rules.
Nearly 500 bird species have been recorded in and around the reserve, with Okuti's own count exceeding 400.
Fly
Light aircraft from Maun land at Xakanaxa airstrip, roughly a 20-minute flight.
