Overview
Trails, Tales & Traditions
Named for William Cameron, the British surveyor who mapped this plateau in 1885, Cameron Highlands Resort has grown from a 1930s cottage into the region's most storied hideaway, still affectionately called 'a little piece of England in Asia.'
At 1,500 metres, the resort's cool climate and rolling green hills are tailor-made for a slower pace: leisurely rounds of golf across the road, brisk rambles along jungle trails, visits to tea plantations, or a proper afternoon tea with scones and clotted cream. Interiors carry acres of dark wood, deep leather couches and timber-beamed ceilings, layered with the wondrous colours and textures of Jim Thompson's famed Thai silk. Each evening, resident pianist Steven Oswald — 'Uncle Steven' to generations of guests — has played in the Jim Thompson Tea Room since 2006, a tradition that once earned the resort a place among Travel + Leisure's Eleven Best Hotel Piano Lounges in the World.
