Overview

A Homestead
Among the Coffee

Hidden amongst one of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantations on the outskirts of Arusha, this Elewana lodge is designed around an original landowner’s homestead dating to the early 1900s.

Lying on the rolling foothills that cascade down from Mount Meru, Arusha Coffee Lodge sits within a working coffee estate at the traditional gateway to Tanzania's northern safari circuit. Thirty Plantation Houses radiate out into the evergreen coffee fields, their colours and textures echoing the coffee theme throughout, while the main homestead houses an à la carte restaurant, café bistro and lounge warmed by open log fires. It's a deliberately homely, restorative stop — a haven for relaxation before or after the Serengeti, Ngorongoro or Tarangire.
