Overview
Twenty-Five Thousand Bottles
Rooms and suites in terraces down the hill, all of them with a private terrace and the view.
The Yeatman is built into the hillside at Vila Nova de Gaia, across the river from Porto, among the port lodges that have been ageing wine here for three centuries. It is organised entirely around that: every room and suite is named for, and decorated in honour of, a specific Douro or Port house, and the cellar holds more than 25,000 bottles — the largest Portuguese wine cellar in the world. Every room has a private terrace, and the whole property is terraced so nothing blocks anything. The view is the postcard one: the Ribeira rooftops, the Dom Luís I bridge, and the river between them.
The view is the reason. The infinity pool and the terraces face the Ribeira and the Dom Luís I bridge. It is the most photographed view in Porto, seen from the correct side.
