A thermal resort beside the white travertine terraces, drawing on water used therapeutically since antiquity.

Overview
Beside the Cotton Castle
A thermal base at the foot of one of the most photographed landscapes in Türkiye.
Doga Thermal sits in the thermal region of Pamukkale with direct access to the mineral water that gives the area its name — Pamukkale means cotton castle, and the white calcium terraces above the resort were built over millennia by water spilling down the hillside. The geothermal water here is high in calcium and has been used therapeutically since antiquity; the Romans built the city of Hierapolis directly on top of the formations for exactly that reason. The resort is a practical and comfortable base for walking the terraces at the right hour.
You walk the terraces barefoot. Shoes are not permitted on the travertines and socks are not allowed either — visitors walk up through the flowing water in bare feet, which is part of why the site has survived.
